What We Believe

We believe that there is only one God. He is manifested in three persons (God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit). Each with their distinct and equally eminent qualities. (Isaiah 44:6; Isaiah 45:18; 1 Timothy 2:5)

We believe the Bible is the Word of God, given to all people. It is accurate and trustworthy in all that is says. The Bible is divinely inspired and is free from any error; therefore, it can be trusted of what it says about God, sin, Jesus, redemption, salvation, morality, etc. . . It is complete and sufficient in leading all to salvation and Godly living (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:3, 20-21; Romans 4:1-2).

We believe that all people (mankind) are created in the image of God. Regrettably, mankind has chosen to rebel (sin) and become enemies with God and suffer the penalty for this sin (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:23; 1 John 1:8; 1 John 3:4).

We believe that because of His love for all people, God became a human male through a virgin birth that was conceived by the Holy Spirit. He lived a sinless life and died a horrible death on a cross as a sacrifice for everyone. After three days, God raised Him from the dead so that through Him, all people might have the possibility of reconciliation to God. (John 1:1; John 8:58; Matthew 1:21-23; Titus 2:13; Romans 9:5; Mark 10:45; 1 -Timothy 1:15; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; John 10:17-18).

We believe that only through the acceptance of Jesus Christ as both Savior and Lord will a person be forgiven of their sins and reconciled to God. (John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Romans 1:4)

We believe that forgiveness of sins, reconciliation to God, and eternal life are possible through the acceptance of the Gospel message. This is accomplished by the following:

  • Believing that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that God raised Him from the dead (Mark 1:1; Matthew 3:13-17; Acts 13:29-31).
  • Accepting Him as both Savior and Lord of your life (Jude 1:25; 2 Peter 3:18).
  • Repenting by turning from your sins and living for God (Acts 3:19).
  • Confessing your belief in Jesus Christ (Romans 10:9-10).
  • Being baptized by immersion (Acts 2:37-38; Romans 6:3-4; 1 Peter 3:21; Acts 8:35-39).

We believe that God gives the Holy Spirit to each believer at the moment of their baptism (Acts 2:38; Ephesians 1:13-14). He provides this helper to empower us to live a Christian life (Romans 8:13; Philippians 2:12-13).

We believe that communion (The Lord’s Supper) should be celebrated the first day of each week as prescribed by Jesus and exemplified by the Apostles (Matthew 26:26-28; Acts 20:7).

We believe that marriage is between one biological male and one biological female. We affirm this model of marriage as described in the Bible. (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4-6).

We believe that Jesus will one day return to judge all people, both the living and those who have died (2 Timothy 4:1; 1 Peter 4:5). The unrighteous (non-Christians) will go to eternal punishment and the righteous (Christians) will go to eternal life (Matthew 25:46).
